N.B. Crime Stoppers intends to use its social media sites to present matters of public interest, solicit support for its programs, encourage the public to provide anonymous information about criminal activity via the proper channels, and to engage with stakeholders and citizens of New Brunswick.

Comments and interaction
We will read comments and participate in discussions when appropriate. We ask that your comments be relevant and respectful. We reserve the right to delete comments that violate this notice, and the user may be blocked and reported to prevent further inappropriate comments.
Comments or opinions expressed on N.B. Crime Stoppers social media sites from members of the public and are those of their respective contributors only. The views expressed by outside contributors do not necessarily represent the views of N.B. Crime Stoppers or its partners.
We understand that the Web is a 24/7 medium, and your comments are welcome at any time. Comments submitted after hours or on weekends will be read and responded to as soon as possible.
We reserve the right to edit or remove comments that:
- Contain personal identifying information or sensitive information, as defined by various Governmental acts and legislations;
- Are contrary to the principles of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms;
- Express racist, hateful, sexist, homophobic, slanderous, insulting or life-threatening messages;
- Put forward serious, unproven or inaccurate accusations against individuals or organizations;
- Are aggressive, coarse, violent, obscene or pornographic;
- Are offensive, rude or abusive to an individual or an organization;
- Are not sent by the author or are put forward for advertising purposes;
- Encourage illegal activity;
- Contain announcements from labour or political organizations;
- Are written in a language other than English or French;
- Are unintelligible or irrelevant;
- Contain information that reasonably could compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems;
- Contain copyrighted material;
- Provide non-published or private information about N.B. Crime Stoppers or its employees, third-party contractors, directors, law enforcement coordinators, or volunteers such as personal emails, home phone numbers or addresses;
- Are repetitive or spam; and
- Do not, in our opinion, add to the normal flow of the discussion.
In short, please be respectful and make sure that your comments are relevant to where they are posted.
Keep in mind that social media sites are public; therefore any content submitted is not confidential or anonymous. You assume personal responsibility for your comments, username and any information provided. Please refrain from posting detailed personal information (information about a crime, health or medical information, financial information, address, phone number, etc.).
If you post information related to a crime on social media, you may be placing yourself in the position of becoming a witness in court proceedings. All anonymous tips must be submitted through the anonymous tip submission form online via the N.B. Crime Stoppers website, through the P3 Mobile App, or by calling the Toll-Free Tipsline.
Crime Stoppers reserves the right to remove and/or block anyone who posts inappropriate material as determined by Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers reserves the right to remove any comments that are inappropriate or offensive.
Links to other websites and ads
Occasionally, we may post or display links for websites that are not under the control of N.B. Crime Stoppers. These links are provided solely for the convenience of the users. N.B. Crime Stoppers is not responsible for the accuracy, validity or reliability of the content on these sites.
We follow/like/subscribe to individuals and organizations relevant to the business of N.B. Crime Stoppers. Our decision to follow, like, or subscribe to a particular individual or organization does not imply an endorsement of that account, channel, page or site, and neither does sharing (re-tweeting, reposting or linking to) content from another user.
Availability
Because the servers of social media platforms are managed by a third party, our social media accounts are subject to downtime that may be out of our control. As such, we accept no responsibility for platforms becoming unresponsive or unavailable.
Official Languages
Many social media platforms have multiple language options and provide instructions on how to set your preferences. N.B. Crime Stoppers is committed to ensuring that our information is available in both English and French and that both versions are of equal quality.
We reply to comments in the official language in which they are posted. If we think the response is a question of general public interest, we may respond in both official languages.
We may share links that direct users to sites of organizations or other entities that are available only in the language(s) in which they are written. When content is available in only one language, we make an effort to provide similar content in the other official language.
