Unsolved Crime: Hit and Run Causing Death, 70-year old Gilbert Savoie – Saint John, N.B.

Crime Stoppers and the Saint John Police Force are looking for the driver of a hit and run vehicle who struck a pedestrian 9 years ago on Loch Lomond Road in Saint John, New Brunswick.

On Saturday, December 9, 2006, at around 10:20 p.m., 70-year old Gilbert Savoie had been dropped off by a friend, adjacent to 3291 Loch Lomond Road. While crossing the road, he was struck by a vehicle which left the scene heading in a West-ward direction. Mr. Savoie was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Parts from the suspect vehicle recovered at the accident scene are believed to be from a 1992-1995 Mazda, beige in colour. Damage to the driver`s front fender, hood and windshield were possible. A local autobody or windshield repair shop may have worked on this vehicle.
